Proof that the pen is mightier than the scum-sucking, rights-violating, revenge-master, political hitman-attorney!

Well deserved and among my favorite “blogs!”

I remember Nixon “I’m not a Crook”—boy do I feel old!!

Telecoms (corporate citizens?) must comply with a lawful court order for information, they can’t refuse to allow proper, lawful access without contempt problems. Thus, the administration’s argument that “they won’t cooperate” is specious. The administration bill cuts the court’s role, and may actually lead to refusal to cooperate. But then, the administration can always prosecute uncooperative (legal?) telecom executives, as they’ve done, with a cooperative attorney general.

Colatteral damage—- My 4th amendment rights?!!!!

There’s your problem: “Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), the chairman of the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee..” Thinks IMPEACHMENT is “impractical!”

My god! It’s essential! the oath of congressional office states—- “to protect and defend the Constitution of the U.S….”

Clearly, high crimes and misdemeanors have been, and are, committed by this administration! For congress to stand by and not prosecute those is gross dereliction of duty!

As Scott Horton noted (No Comment: http://www.harpers.org/archive/2008/02/hbc-90002302) this needs be done to preserve our system of government.

Impractical my @*s!!

The U.S. respects and defends Irag’s sovereignty…really, we do.

—sorta, mostly…

Or, sometimes not.

No doubt a request for investigation by the IRS on illegal use of 501©3 funds is in the making. It is very disturbing (though not surprising) to hear of the federal funding that goes to this group. There better be a tight wall between the©3 and©4 $$$$.

What is with the Republican penchant for misleading names (e.g. Protect America Act [it doesn’t], Patriot Act [not patriotic], Defense of Democracies [un-democratic])...??

I have chickens, they always come back to roost! I don’t arm them, however. I do arm the turkeys as they are in the minority. I’d send the turkeys to the army, but there are too many flag officers now, as it is….

Come on skulz, tell us how you really feel! No holding back!

I’m not sure who is more traitorous, the faithful sycophants or the disqusting congress, who hear and see this all going on and do absolutely nothing, nothing!

Where are the checks and balances invisioned by far wiser generations and captured in our constitution and law? It has been made a mockery. Shame on us!

Wow, does this country know how to win friends and enfluence people, or what?

But…we’re tough where it counts: tough on liberty, tough on democracy, tough on self-determination.

Oh, and a friend to despots if they say (wink) they are fighting our enemys.

Statesmanship is right. Unfortunately, this conflict is distinguished by a complete lack of statesmanship on our part (regionally and globally). Where is the State Department? So called “nation-building” in Iraq has been a commedy of errors. The military is not the right tool for post-conflict accommodations. And, given our official stance of not talking with many of the players in the region, what can we bring to this important effort?

With the administration in charge, count on many more fumbles and increasing quagmire.
