David Dante Troutt is a law professor at Rutgers University. He is the author of “The Importance of Being Dangerous,”  “After the Storm: Black Intellectuals Explore the Meaning of Hurricane Katrina,” "The Monkey Suit and other Short Fiction on African Americans and Justice" and "The Thin Red Line: How the Poor Still Pay More". His writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and The Huffington Post.
