Thanks to The New York Times for taking the sacred joy of the NCAA basketball tournament and muddying it with politics.
The Times reports that Barack Obama -- a candidate with a pretty good three-point shot -- has spent a lot of time with the bracket. He finally settled on these picks:
East – North Carolina.
Midwest – Kansas.
South – Pittsburgh.
West – U.C.L.A.
Championship game: North Carolina over U.C.L.A.
Looking at the lineup, it's hard to ignore the fact that three of Obama's four regional picks were top seeds. The exception was Pitt. Is he just hoping to pick up some votes in Pennsylvania?

No way. Everyone has been in love with Pitt since they got all of their players back from injury. Bobby Knight, the coach with the most wins in NCAA history likes them to go to the finals.
