Former Gov. Don Siegelman (D-Ala.) is going to be out on bail after a court decision today. The 11th Circuit overturned an earlier decision to keep him behind bars while he awaits an appeal on a bribery conviction, which his supporters have called unusual and unfair treatment. This morning Mike noted that House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-Mich.) asked the Bush administration to release the Alabama Democrat temporarily so he could testify before the committee about his controversial case. There’s no apparent connection between today’s two developments.
